Grants and Incentives
Your contribution to the protection of the environment will be rewarded. If you decide for a wood-fired boiler or a heat pump you will get a lot of federal and state furtherances. A lot of communities also financially support the installation of our systems. We have summed up the most important information about furtherances for you.
The renewable heat incentive
Switching to biomass and installing renewable heat makes you eligible for Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI funding), a scheme funded by the government and regulated by Ofgem with the objective of encouraging the generation of heat from renewable sources.
There are two types of RHI available, depending on whether you are a domestic homeowner or if you are non-domestic business.
The domestic RHI provides quarterly payments over a set seven year period based on the level of heat produced and to be eligible for this scheme your renewable energy must heat a single property which is capable of getting a domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
The non-Domestic RHI provides quarterly payments over a set 20 year period based on the level of heat produced.
Government Grants
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme which supports affordable warmth. If you’re a low income individual, family or a pensioner and have an old, inefficient or broken boiler, you could be eligible for boiler funding for either all or part of the cost of replacement. The level of support you receive will depend on how much energy you are expected to save in your home by fitting a new boiler.
Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme
All KWB boilers are on a government-managed list of energy-efficient plant and machinery as part of the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) tax scheme for businesses. The ECA scheme allows businesses to invest in energy-saving equipment that might otherwise be too expensive. In the first year it allows businesses to write off 100 per cent of the cost of the boiler against the business’s taxable profits in the financial year the purchase was made as well as using your annual investment allowance. More information to the Enhanced capital allowance scheme.
