Hot water heat pump module with split design
Maximum efficiency and flexibility
The modern KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split uses electricity to convert ambient air into valuable energy – with maximum efficiency and flexibility.
Like with a flow heater, the water is heated quickly and efficiently. The heat extracted from the air is transported through the refrigerant in the heat pump by a circulation process and then transmitted to the heating or drinking water system by a heat exchanger. This means your photovoltaic electricity is fully utilised and you benefit from an environmentally friendly and cost-saving solution in your home.
Heating support in the summer and the periods just before and after
The KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split is an innovative hot water heat pump with a split design and without an integrated storage tank. This means it can used flexibly with a hot water storage tank or even a buffer storage tank to provide hot water cost effectively in summer. Thanks to its high thermal output (max. 3.9 kW, average output of 2.85 kW at A15), it can be used together with a buffer storage tank to provide ideal heating support in the periods just before and after summer as well. This means the KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split ensures lower heating costs and maximum comfort.
Lowers energy costs
The KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split is characterised by its high energy efficiency, which not only saves costs, but also makes an active contribution to protecting the environment. With its function for the use of surplus photovoltaic electricity, the KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split reduces energy costs by maximising the use of free solar energy and makes your home greener at the same time.
Easy operation
The KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split ensures a pleasant atmosphere with its low-noise operation. The compact design allows for flexible installation either on a wall or on the floor. Operating the heat pump is easy and intuitive, and you can effectively control your energy consumption with a weekly schedule. The heat pump also offers the option of controlling a heating rod and has an integrated circulating pump.
- Perfect heating support in the periods just before and after summer
- Cost savings thanks to use of surplus PV
- Easy installation due to split design
- Intuitive operation and quiet operation

Can ideally be combined with the KWB Easyfire
The KWB Easyfire is the ideal pellet heating system for redevelopments or new constructions. It is installed both in single-family and multi-family houses in the output range from 2.4 to 38 kW.
To the productThis is how alternative heating works
The world must drastically change how energy is used, and this change must be driven not by going without energy, but by technological innovation. To do this, we need sustainable alternatives that allow us to generate heat and power from renewable energy sources and use them wisely. Fossil fuels, such as gas or oil, must be replaced with renewable resources. KWB has a complete solution for the energy transition in your home.
