Powerful wood chip heating system
KWB PowerfireFlexible and efficient heating
- Commercial & hospitality
- 150–500 kW output
- Heating with wood chips or pellets
Flexible in operation. Powerful in performance.
The KWB Powerfire is the powerful solution for efficient heating with wood chips or pellets, making it ideal for commercial businesses, hotels and heat suppliers. It combines a high level of flexibility with economical fuel use and is available with outputs from 150 to 500 kW. Because economic efficiency is crucial in this performance range, we support our customers with expert advice and assistance from planning and commissioning through to ongoing operation.
Complete flexibility when choosing fuel
The KWB Powerfire wood chip and pellet heating system features a particularly robust design. At its heart is the revolving grate system, manufactured to industrial standards from high-alloy, self-cleaning grate elements. The moving grate handles different fuel qualities with ease, providing maximum flexibility when heating with wood chips or pellets.
Convenient ash removal
The KWB Powerfire can optionally be equipped with a convenient ash container featuring integrated fill level monitoring. With an ash capacity of up to 430 litres, it provides particularly long emptying intervals. The heating system therefore requires very little attention during operation, reducing the amount of ongoing supervision required.
Easy installation thanks to the modular design
The KWB Powerfire wood chip and pellet heating system has a modular construction and can be separated into several sections. This allows it to be installed easily even in confined boiler rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2 metres, making it equally suitable for renovation projects. The extendable base allows convenient maintenance from above without the need for additional lifting equipment. High-quality components also ensure low wear and a long service life.

Technical benefits
The revolving grate combustion system is a unique feature of the KWB Powerfire. The fuel is fed laterally into the pre-combustion chamber and transported onto a revolving grate. As the grate rotates, the fuel moves through the combustion chamber and burns out optimally before a dedicated grate cleaning system removes the ash.
The revolving grate principle uses staged combustion air supply and, together with the cyclone combustion chamber, ensures maximum fuel utilisation, consistently high efficiency and low emissions.
The KWB Powerfire features a level-controlled stoker container that is filled automatically with wood chips from the storage room. This supplies the combustion system evenly with fuel. The fire shutter helps minimise both noise and electricity consumption.
The KWB Powerfire is optionally available with a cellular wheel sluice. Its specially shaped interior maintains a consistently high conveying rate even when fuels with a low energy content are used. With a drop height of 25 cm, the cellular wheel sluice is particularly suitable for coarse and long wood chips.
The KWB ComfortOnline platform provides even greater convenience and operational reliability. It allows the complete heating system to be controlled and maintained remotely using a smartphone, tablet or PC. You can check the operating status, adjust heating times and temperatures and receive notifications of changes in status by text message or email. On request, temporary access can also be granted to third parties such as your heating installer or KWB Customer Service.
KWB Powerfire output ratings
The KWB Powerfire is a user-friendly and highly efficient wood chip and pellet boiler for commercial businesses, hotels and heat suppliers. It is available in a broad output range from 150 to 500 kW:
- 150 kW: Ideally suited to larger residential buildings or smaller commercial applications with moderate heat requirements.
- 240 kW: Suitable for larger commercial buildings, multi-family homes or agricultural businesses requiring a higher heating output.
- 300–500 kW: The highest-output versions are ideal for large industrial systems or buildings with very high energy requirements.
Every output rating provides full flexibility when choosing between pellets and wood chips. All technical details and specifications can be found in the technical data.
Easy and flexible operation
The KWB Comfort 3 control system provides intuitive operation. It adjusts the boiler output fully automatically and continuously according to the current heat demand, from standby through to full load.
KWB Powerfire in detail
KWB Powerfire
Efficient combustion
The broadband lambda probe continuously monitors and optimally controls combustion. This provides low energy consumption and a high level of operational reliability.
Convenient heat exchanger ash removal
A larger fly ash container provides longer emptying intervals on the 240 and 300 kW versions.
KWB Comfort 3 control system
The control system features two-button operation, a control dial and a clear graphic display.
Ash removal
Ash is removed fully automatically into an internal 66-litre ash container. An external ash removal system with a galvanised 240-litre container is also available as an option, providing maximum convenience through particularly long emptying intervals.
Low emissions
The high-temperature vortex combustion chamber burns the wood gas at very high temperatures with virtually no residue. The shaped combustion chamber blocks are divided into several sections, allowing individual elements to be replaced where necessary.
