Buffer storage and domestic hot water in one
The KWB EmpaWell combines the functions of a buffer storage tank and a domestic hot water cylinder in one compact unit. Designed primarily for single-family homes, it is particularly well suited to use with a KWB pellet heating system.
The KWB EmpaWell is available in the following sizes:
- 500-litre combination storage tank
- 800-litre combination storage tank
- 1,000-litre combination storage tank
- 1,500-litre combination storage tank
The KWB EmpaWell provides a reliable and hygienic supply of hot water. Fresh water flows through the heat exchanger inside the buffer storage tank without coming into contact with the heating water, as the two are separated by a corrugated stainless steel pipe. The fresh water supply requires no pump and therefore no electricity. Hot water can still be drawn even during a power cut.
Heat generation by the boiler is hydraulically separated from the heat consumers, reducing the number of boiler starts and stops and therefore lowering emissions. Fibre insulation, base insulation and protective caps also minimise heat loss and help keep the water required by the heating system at the right temperature.
KWB EmpaWell Solar: buffer storage and domestic hot water with solar support
The KWB EmpaWell is optionally available with connections for a solar thermal system as the KWB EmpaWell Solar. Free solar energy is used to heat the domestic hot water, while surplus energy can be supplied to the heating system and used, for example, to support underfloor heating. When there is not enough solar energy available, the boiler starts automatically to provide additional heat.
