Combination boilers for logs and pellets

Combining convenience and independence

Taking flexibility further

KWB combination boilers provide maximum independence and complete flexibility. They are ideal for anyone who enjoys heating with wood while also wanting the convenience of an automatic pellet heating system. The system switches automatically between logs and pellets, keeping your home warm even when no more wood is added.

Benefits of combination boilers

Easy installation

With the KWB modular and easily transportable system, the combination boiler is delivered in individual modules and brought into the boiler room one section at a time. This allows installation even in confined spaces, helps prevent damage and means the boiler can be put into operation more quickly.

Fully automatic and convenient

KWB combination boilers can be operated either with logs or pellets. Thanks to the 185-litre filling chamber, loading the boiler once or twice a day during log wood operation is generally sufficient to provide a single-family home with reliable heat. When no more wood is added, the wood gasification boiler switches fully automatically to pellet operation.

Easy cleaning

KWB combination boilers burn so cleanly and efficiently that only a small amount of ash is produced. The ash container no longer needs to be emptied every day: the ash drawer beneath the boiler only needs to be cleaned approximately every ten days, while the mobile ash box of the pellet module only needs to be emptied once or twice a year. The heat exchanger cleans itself fully automatically.

Two combustion chambers

At the heart of the combination boiler are two separate, heat-resistant combustion chambers in which the different fuels are burned.

Automatic pellet supply

A stoker screw supplies the pellet burner reliably with fuel. It ensures a consistent supply of pellets and therefore an efficient and clean combustion process.

Self-cleaning heat exchanger

A shared, self-cleaning heat exchanger transfers the generated heat efficiently to the heating water. This keeps the efficiency of the combination boiler consistently high while minimising maintenance requirements.

Pellet storage

Pellets can be stored flexibly, either conventionally in a storage room into which they are blown virtually dust-free or in a space-saving KWB Pellet Big Bag or metal storage tank. This provides a suitable solution for every building, whether the basement is dry or the available space is limited.
