Highly efficient and flexible
The modern KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split R290 uses electricity to turn energy from the ambient air into useful heat. It is particularly well suited to making use of surplus electricity from a photovoltaic system, providing an economical and environmentally responsible way to heat domestic hot water.
The heat extracted from the air is transferred through the heat pump’s refrigeration circuit using the environmentally friendly refrigerant propane R290. A heat exchanger then transfers it to the heating or domestic hot water system.
Heating support in summer and during the transitional seasons
The KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split R290 is an innovative split-system domestic hot water heat pump without an integrated storage tank. It can therefore be combined flexibly with either a domestic hot water cylinder or a buffer storage tank to provide hot water cost-effectively during the summer.
When connected to a buffer storage tank, it can also support the heating system during the transitional seasons. Its new rated heat output is 2.1 kW at A7/W10-55, helping to keep energy costs low while maintaining a high level of comfort.
Helps reduce energy costs
The high efficiency of the KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split R290 helps reduce energy costs. Surplus electricity from a photovoltaic system can be used specifically for domestic hot water and supplementary heating, making better use of the solar power generated on site.
The use of environmentally friendly propane R290 also makes the KWB EmpaAir Hydro Split R290 a future-ready and sustainable solution.
Easy to use
Quiet operation helps maintain a comfortable living environment, while the compact design allows flexible wall-mounted or floor-standing installation.
The new controller features a touchscreen for simple, intuitive operation. Supplied ready to plug in, the heat pump is particularly easy to install using the plug-and-play principle. It can also control an immersion heater and includes an integrated circulation pump.
