Efficient wood gasifier and traditional log wood boiler
KWB Classicfire 2Tradition meets high-tech
- Single- and multi-family homes
- Agriculture & forestry
- 18–38 kW
Traditional fuel, modern convenience
The KWB Classicfire 2 log wood heating system is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to heat sustainably using their own wood, whether they are a farmer, forester or homeowner. With an output range of 18 to 38 kW and particularly convenient operation, it provides efficient and reliable heat.
Convenient and efficient heating
The KWB Classicfire 2 log wood heating system combines traditional wood heating technology with modern convenience. It can be filled easily with logs up to half a metre long, while the large front door makes loading particularly convenient. The 185-litre filling chamber generally means that one load per day is sufficient to heat an entire single-family home.
Convert it into a combination heating system in no time
A pellet module can be added easily to the left-hand side of the KWB Classicfire 2 wood gasification boiler. This converts the log wood heating system into the KWB Combifire, a combination heating system for logs and pellets. The system switches fully automatically between the two fuels: as soon as the logs are running low, pellet operation takes over the heat supply seamlessly.

Technical benefits
The KWB Classicfire 2 and KWB Combifire are optionally available with automatic ignition. The boiler can be filled with logs and a time can then be set for automatic ignition. This is made possible, among other things, by modern KWB technology, which allows the ignition door to remain closed throughout the ignition process. No matter when you arrive home, you will be welcomed by comfortable warmth.
The broadband lambda probe, developed specifically for biomass heating systems, continuously monitors and optimally controls combustion. It regulates the fuel supply throughout the combustion process. A new ceramic ignition element with flame detection ignites intermittently within minutes. This ensures low energy consumption and a high level of operational reliability.
Thanks to the KWB modular and easily transportable system, the boiler can be separated into three modules. The maximum weight of each individual module is 220 kg. The separable boiler body makes it particularly easy to transport the system into almost any boiler room and install it even where space is limited. Your installer can bring the boiler in more quickly, while damage to walls during transport becomes a thing of the past. This saves time and money.
Easy and flexible operation
The KWB Classicfire 2 can be operated particularly conveniently using the KWB Comfort 4 control system, either via the modern colour touchscreen display or using the practical control dial, which is ideal when wearing work gloves. The intelligent control system actively supports the heating process and indicates, among other things, when more wood should be added and how much is required. For even greater convenience, the system is already prepared for KWB ComfortOnline, allowing the boiler to be monitored and controlled easily by smartphone, tablet or PC.
KWB Classicfire 2 log wood heating system output ranges
With an output range of 18 to 38 kW, the KWB Classicfire 2 log wood gasification boiler is particularly impressive thanks to its convenient operation.
- 18–22 kW: Ideal for single-family homes or smaller agricultural businesses with low to moderate heat requirements.
- 25–30 kW: Ideal for multi-family homes or medium-sized agricultural businesses requiring a higher heating output.
- 35–38 kW: Particularly suitable for larger agricultural businesses or larger buildings with high energy requirements.

KWB Classicfire 2 in detail
KWB Classicfire 2
Efficient combustion
The broadband lambda probe continuously monitors and optimally controls combustion. This ensures low fuel consumption and a high level of operational reliability.
Dual control
The KWB Comfort 4 control system can be operated via the colour touchscreen display or alternatively using the proven control dial. The dial is particularly practical when wearing work gloves. The control unit is positioned so that it is never exposed to heat, even when the combustion chamber door is open.
Rapid heat supply
The quick-charge valve ensures that only the upper section of the associated buffer storage tank is charged with hot water. This allows the hot water to be supplied rapidly to the various heat consumers.
Lower fuel consumption
The speed-controlled induced draught fan reduces fuel consumption. The KWB Classicfire 2 control system automatically detects whether sufficient heat is already available in the system. Where necessary, the fan speed is reduced, lowering the boiler output to as little as 50%. This saves fuel and money.
Large filling chamber
The 185-litre filling chamber of the KWB Classicfire 2 can be loaded crosswise with half-metre or one-third-metre logs. Integrated bridging protection ensures the correct negative pressure in the filling chamber at all times.
Automatic ignition
As soon as the heating system requires heat, the boiler ignites automatically. This ensures that the set room and domestic hot water temperatures are maintained continuously.
Low emissions
The high-temperature vortex combustion chamber burns the wood gas at very high temperatures with virtually no residue. The combustion chamber block is divided into eight sections, allowing individual elements to be replaced where necessary.
